POSITION SUMMARY

The material handler position is responsible for keeping raw material and work in process moving within the plant to ensure product is manufactured in an efficient manner.  This requires unloading and loading trucks, checking in and labeling material, putting material to designated areas, bringing material to and from manufacturing lines and transferring WIP tubs to various departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

·         Take full tubs from machine and weigh them for piece count

·         Recording of piece counts on back of original job travelers

·         Transportation of tubs up to wash line after they are full

·         Material transportation to and from machines before and after jobs are complete

·         Material welding and drawing for jobs being set up or in process of run

·         Disposal of scrap after properly recording weights on scrap sheets

·         Garbage collection and disposal

·         Set up approvals for operators

·         Chop sawing of material off drums if needed and proper disposal

·         Weighing of scrap tubs and recording into computer Excel sheet

·         Dumping of scrap tubs into dumpsters

·         Empty carrier collection and distribution to correct containers behind the building in Room G

·         Restocking of material into MIPS lines from other areas of the plant to ensure MIPS area stays full and we are using up the correct heats and dated material first

·         Using floor scrubber to clean large areas or main aisles as needed

·         Other duties as instructed. This list of duties applies to Rooms E, F, & G. Please communicate between rooms as much as possible throughout your entire shift

Must have good organizational skills and be able to work on more than one task at a time.

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Must have good mathematical skills.

Must be able to obtain fork truck Certification through ITW Shakeproof Industrial

Prior experience preferred
