Automation Machine Operator - Day Shift

ITW Medical is comprised of two highly-respected medical product brands - Coeur & Filtertek – supplying medical devices, components, and service to global medical device brands.   Filtertek manufactures molded filtration and flow control components. Coeur is a leading provider of disposable diagnostic imaging consumables. 


GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

This position is responsible for the quality and production of the automation machines. Shifts are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This position follows a consistent two-week rotating schedule, which provides a mix of workdays and extended time off every other week:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

This position reports directly to the Shift Team Lead. It pays $20/hr, along with generous health, wellness, and retirement benefits. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Operate medical assembly automation machine
  • Assist employees in changing over from one lot to the next lot
  • Ensure daily production goals are reached and scrap is kept at a minimum
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues that create downtime or poor quality
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on the equipment

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Technology based Associates Degree in preferred.
  • Three years experience operating and maintaining automation equipment.
  • Experience with vision inspection equipment preferred.
  • Experience with 6-axis robots preferred.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems preferred.
  • This position requires the ability read, comprehend, and follow the Operating Instructions, Manufacturing Specifications, and Technical Documents.
  • Basic math skills required to accurately count and record part production.  Calculators may be used.

This position requires eyesight (corrected or uncorrected) capable of performing visual quality inspections on parts.

  • This position requires some physical movement around the machine areas.  This position requires an operator to stand for 90% of their work shift with two scheduled breaks and a 30-minute lunch.
  • Some lifting of boxes or totes may be required intermittently. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
