Hobart Service, a division of the Fortune 200 company - Illinois Tool Works (ITW), is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our Troy, Ohio HR team!  In this position, you will carry out HR Generalist responsibilities under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager, and must exercise independent judgment and decision-making. 

This role will perform a variety of activities relating to the overall employee population. Responsibilities will include providing support with the day-to-day activities and policy administration relating to all phases of the employee life cycle, such as (but not limited to) recruitment, new hire orientation, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • You will create a positive first impression of the business and will serve as a role model for the ITW core values and our Leadership Expectations
  • Participates in developing business goals and objectives
  • Support the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the business; prepares and maintains the handbook on policies and procedures
  • Leads recruitment effort to source, evaluate, select and on-board new talent, performs new-employee orientations; coach’s managers on the development of others, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing
  • Recommends and develops organizational training and development efforts
  • Supports the HR Manager and recruiting  in daily responsibilities
  • Champions safety and wellness initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned to include additional projects, programs and continuing developmental activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of progressive and diverse human resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
  • Organized and can prioritize work effectively
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
