Automated Assembly Machine Operator is a talented operator for our automatic assembly machines, producing small plastic components for the automotive industry. Our machines include robotics, HMI screens, conveyors, and etc. This position requires basic machine operations (pressing buttons) to performing assembly changeovers and setups of automation machines, to semi-advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of machines. Additionally, this role will require short-distance material handling of raw materials and finished goods. This is a direct hire, full-time position. We are hiring for all shifts: (1st Shift) 8am – 4pm; (2nd Shift) 4pm – 12am; (3rd Shift) 12am – 8am.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Automation Assembly Operations:

  • Troubleshoot and correct system material flow issues.
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, and computer systems issues and escalate as appropriate.
  • Set up and verify the functionality and safety of equipment.
  • Operation of production lines and equipment, including safety startup, clearing jams, manual operations and format changes.
  • Perform troubleshooting and make necessary in process adjustments to improve run time.
  • Conduct basic changeovers and equipment adjustments without mechanical support.
  • Understand and be able to read HMI faults and troubleshoot information.
  • Basic understanding of PLC ladder logic.
  • Understanding of SMED.
  • Understand and integrate equipment parameters.
  • Achieve required efficiency and throughput on automated lines.
  • Measure and record data associated with operating equipment.

Quality & Safety:

  • Accountability for following all quality, GMP, and SOP guidelines.
  • Follows all current work instruction and adherence to ITW quality standards and requirement.
  • Understand production quality issues and take appropriate corrective action as well as preventive measures.
  • Perform quality data collection.
  • Perform and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Clean production equipment and work area.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent technical training.
  • Production maintenance and automation experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in Computers
  • Some technical training preferable.
  • Experience in the plastics industry operating equipment preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience operating automated production equipment (i.e. robotics, HMI screens, automated assembly equipment).
  • Be capable of running your own operation, responsibility for all reporting (parts completion reports, downtime reports, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Practical attitude and ability to learn new skills

Physical/Environmental Requirement

  • Knowledge to record waste and scrap and make report for improvements.
  • Must be able to work any shift (with reasonable notice for training requirements), and must be able to work weekends and mandatory OT as needed.
  • Frequently lifting up to 40lbs. may be required.
  • Walking, standing and bending.
