The Process Engineer is a key manufacturing engineering role supporting new and existing product lines. The Process Engineer will lead and develop process engineering team driving automation and improvements.

  • Troubleshoot production issues/ failures.
  •  Recommend and drive improvements that reduce waste and costs and improve yields and efficiencies.
  • Collects and analyze data from the database and based on findings, make improvements and modifications to current technologies.
  • Closely work with product development to ensure manufacturing readiness for all new product releases including training of all employees.
  • Audit and maintain method sheet accuracy by performing regular audits and updating the methods.
  •  Maintain equipment/ machine programs/ fixtures.
  • Develop new test equipment and programs.
  • Manage process changes and document meeting minutes. Utilize information to implement new equipment and tools.
  • Provide training to technicians/inspectors (maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment and tools) and all employee training (safety and quality).
  • Provide training/support to the technician for the disposition of nonconforming material. Provide backup for the disposition process.
  • Perform failure analysis on equipment, products and processes.
  • Disposition parts that do not meet specification.
  • Maintain quality procedure accuracy by doing regular audits and provide feedback when procedures are not correct.
  • Recommend capital equipment purchases, develop capital project requests, implement on-time and on-budget.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and environmental procedures by performing regular audits, documenting the audits and following up on findings. Provide feedback when procedures are not correct.
  • Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management.

Qualifications:

Education:  Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering required; Master of Science in Engineering or related field a plus.

Experience/Skills: 

  • Minimum five (5) years related experience
  • Lead or leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge in manufacturing environment with documentation
  • Cleanroom protocol experience strongly preferred
  • Strong electrical knowledge and manufacturing and test equipment programming skills
  • Knowledge of ISO standards
  • AutoCAD/SolidWorks skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects Ability to troubleshoot, repair and program manufacturing equipment
  • Design experience with drawing, quality systems and documentation in an ISO environment
  • Ability to design, execute and interpret data of D.O.E.
  • Ability to machine fixtures and parts as necessary
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

1.     While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear, type, walk, stand, grasp, bend, sit, reach above shoulder and outward, twist/turn, and handle and manipulate.  The employee is occasionally required to climb and crawl.

2.     The employee must push or pull up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds of force occasionally. Employee is required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

3.     Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus. 

Working Conditions: Working conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

1.          Cleanroom Environment (15%)

2.          Plant Conditions (85%) – frequently exposed to chemicals and machinery and occasionally to loud noise.

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids that may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

Microsoft Office Suite, basic hand tools, mills, lathes, and SolidWorks/AutoCAD software
