ITW Polymers Sealants North America, Inc. offers expanded adhesives, sealants, and coating solutions to various industries and its key markets including construction (roofing, surfacing, metal building, and fenestration), aerospace composites and wind energy. Our brands with a proven history of success include ERSystems®, Permathane®, Tacky Tape®, STA’-PUT®, Pacific Polymers®, Acryl-R®, and Elastek®.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Representative is expected to develop and increase sales at current and prospective accounts in their specified geographic territory area. The Sales Representative is responsible for working with the OEMs, end users, and all levels of the Distributor network to pull through profitable business with targeted accounts. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow a close working relationship with all key OEMs and end-users within the territory. Keep abreast of customer needs, price/volume information, competitive activities, and industry trends
  • Develop a working professional relationship with all relevant departments of end-users, including purchasing, production, and management
  • Grow the business through effective account management by following the ITW PSNA sales process and working closely with Distribution principals, OEMs, and end users to develop strategies and implement growth plans
  • Utilize the ITW Toolbox and ITW PSNA Sales Excellence process to develop strategies and implement profitable growth plans. Develop and maintain Sales Playbooks for each segment/territory
  • Strategic, tactical, and operational planning with Segment Manager to determine primary objectives, set specific targets, and implement plans to grow business within the segment/territory
  • Provide technical information/support and training to Distribution, End User, and OEM’s.  Work closely with Distribution principals to develop end user target strategies and implement growth plans
  • Develop, prospect, qualify, and close leads in the territory – with, or without assistance from the Distributor
  • Provide technical service to end-users, and Distribution, relating to the use, operation and maintenance of our adhesives, sealants, tapes, and/or equipment
  • Provide support to business unit trade shows as necessary
  • Promote, support, and adhere to all safety and quality related policies and procedures

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Required

Strong listening and analytical skills to interpret information from prospective customers and translate this into selling requirements

  • Ability to prioritize and focus efforts on most profitable growth opportunities
  • Professional presence and credibility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills
  • PC literate, skilled in word processing, spreadsheet, and contact management software
  • Willingness to travel for up to 50% - 60% of time
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years of industrial sales experience

 

Preferred

  •  Bachelor’s degree in technical/mechanical/engineering or business
  • Relevant product and/or market experience a plus
