This position is responsible for the basic product inspection testing activity, for auditing the production process and product performance, for maintaining the quality program, for determining trends, submitting quality reports, and identifying machine and/or processing product quality concerns.

Core Responsibilities:

 

  1. Conducts audit activities at the Paris facility.  Conduct product quality audits using the audit program guidelines on manufactured product, and incoming tooling, and for plating thickness and complex product testing and tooling dimensional and performance characteristics verification. Report and communicate all quality issues with ITW CCNA personnel, suppliers, and vendors, as directed by the Quality Engineer and/or Plant Manager.
  2. Perform all quality inspection/testing and quality specifications sheets. Track and document quality checks for assigned product as required.
  3. Follow procedures to ensure the highest quality product is being consistently supplied to customers. Support the overall ITW CCNA quality system which includes creating quality standards, quality inspection instructions, and supplier inspection instructions, maintaining monthly quality reports and coordinating meetings with teams, conducting manufacturing capability studies and analysis, root cause analysis. Work with resources and resolve quality problems detected within the quality system or from customer complaints.
  4. Document corrective action taken to prevent future non-conformances and complaints. Utilize a statistical process control function.  Work with other team members and participate in team events and meetings.
  5. This position may be assigned other duties as needed to support plant and to meet customer needs.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED required; Associate’s degree would be a plus, with preference given to Manufacturing, QA, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years production experience in a manufacturing environment; Quality Assurance experience is preferred.
  • Experience in product mechanical performance testing is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude to understand the production process and performance inspection/testing. Ability to understand the use of measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, dial indicator, force gauge, etc) and computerized test machines.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics is preferred.  Able to learn and understand basic statistics (Control Charting, SPC, Cpk, Cp, Std. Dev, etc.). Ability to handle moderately complicated math formulas.
  • Demonstrate computer skills and competency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.  Ability to work with and analyze numerical and descriptive data and relate it to production data and experimental results.
  • Verbal communication, writing and math skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution.
  • Ability to read blueprints / specification sheets and follow instructions.
  • Ability to identify and recommend opportunities for improvement.  Ability to self direct work and processes.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to details and display analytical skills.
