MTS is seeking an experienced direct sales professional for our static and dynamic test and simulation solutions in the Central/Eastern Canada region.  Ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in selling technical capital equipment for R&D applications to a wide range of customers in aerospace, automotive, material science, civil engineering, energy, biomedical and academia. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the world’s leading researchers to improve the performance, safety, and efficiency of the world we live in.

Knowledge of material testing, mechanical property characterization, and MTS test systems and methodologies (or similar) is highly desired. Candidates should have experience managing a direct outside sales territory and be proficient in the use of CRM platforms for regional contact management and sales forecasting.

Primary Objective:

Generate sales of products and services through the pursuit and development of existing and potential customers within assigned region, to achieve market segment order volume, product mix, and margin targets.  

Education and Experience:  BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; or similar technical discipline, and equivalent work experience with:

  • 10 years sales experience; or 5 years other relevant MTS experience and 5 years sales experience
  • Experience working in the material or structural test and simulation industry
  • Understanding of mechanical property characterization 
  • Technical capital equipment direct sales experience
  • Proficiency in reading/interpreting technical bid specifications, and developing proposals for both commercial and government customers
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for contact management and routine sales forecasting
  • Familiarity with Canadian provincial and government regulations and business practices
  • English/French bilingual preferred
  • Must have the legal right to work in Canada - without sponsorship
