Shift hours are 2:00pm - 10:30pm M-F.  Starting pay $26- $29 per hour based on experience.   We provide a safety-first work environment, and opportunity for pay and skill advancement through our operator level program.

Responsibilities include but not limited to set up and operate printing press for print designs or lettering on rolls of flexible plastic film and paper. Also responsible for job changeovers and problem diagnosis/correction, and watching images move at a speed up to 100 FPM.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the multi-station Flexographic press. Set ups include changing rollers, adjusting doctor blades, and installing cutting dies. Set temperatures, speeds, heat, and tension using touch screen. Accurately register or position materials. 
  • Following work instructions, load chemical mix and inks. Perform start up tests, and regular visual inspections of materials and machine.
  • As necessary, perform routine cleaning of the machine and rollers. Replenish mix and inks during operations. 
  • Review, update or maintain proper written production, quality, and inventory documentation. This includes log books, work instructions, bar code labels, schedules and work orders for quantity, footage, and drawings. Enter data into computer system to make labels for finished rolls.
  • Use various measuring equipment to accurately set up and run machine, 
  • Visually inspect heads for defects. 
  • Perform material handling duties using lifts and hoists to move rolls, dies, and other materials.
  • Use Allen wrenches, pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, box knives, tape measures, rulers, and other small hand tools.
  • Make necessary UV and water base mixes as required.
  • Cross train on different machines and batch making as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, and other general housekeeping duties.
  • Strictly adhere to safety regulations, security regulations and work policies.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience with setup, operation and troubleshooting industrial machinery which is continually processing materials is preferred. Ideal experience includes work with inks, printing, viscosity, HAZMAT (hazardous materials), and weighing or mixing chemicals strongly desired.
  • Material Handling experience, including forklifts and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to follow instructions (both written and verbal) as well as ability to read drawings.
  • Some experience using common hand tools and tape measure or ruler.
  • Work with minimal supervision in manufacturing. 
  • Strong basic math (decimals and fractions) and measurement ability (use and read tape measures or weigh scales) required. Must be able to understand metric system (grams, kilograms) and convert to standard. Read formulas. 
  • The physical requirements include frequent standing/walking, use of upper extremities to handle/manipulate/lift/carry/reach; ability to lift up to 30 lbs., and visually identify product quality defects.
