Division Description: ITW Seats & Motion Division within the ITW Automotive Segment delivers highly differentiated, precision-engineered plastic solutions to global OEMs and their tier suppliers across North America and Europe.


The Program Manager will be based at our manufacturing facility in Frankfort, Illinois. As a key member of our divisional Engineering team, this role leads customer (internal and external) projects by planning and implementing engineering processes, to drive successful completion of assigned projects within budget and deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES:  may include some of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages and leads overall project by applying the APQP process with a cross functional team.
  • Addresses any project issues or concerns with the customer as they arise.
  • Works with designer to review customer / ITW designs for tooling and product functional feasibility, where applicable. Presents results to customer.
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Reviews/designs product into customer applications using ITW Tools (i.e.: gear trax, working models, time studies, and kinematics, etc.).  
  • Prepares new product cost breakdown with the support of operations.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Assists in the evaluation and approval of design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Creates detailed budget and controls expenditures within limitation of project budget
  • Assists and understands the corrective action process related to manufacturing and design.
  • Secures competitive tooling quotes, sources new tools and tracks tool build timing to assure due dates are met for new programs (including customer funded tooling CAPEX).
  • Responsible for data transfers between customers and suppliers.
  • Interact with customers and vendors through the phases of design and manufacturing process.
  • Acts as the internal and external trusted advisor to address customer product/application needs.
  • Applies ITW Toolbox to assure proper execution of projects from the design to manufacturing.

 

Qualifications:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years Engineering work experience
  •  Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks or CATIA)
  • Project Management experience required  
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Understanding of plastic injection molding, tooling and assembly process

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position requires travel, primarily within assigned region (approx. 15-20%).  Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must be able to travel internationally, if required.
