Position Summary:

As a key member of the finance team, the Staff Accountant reports to the U.S. Controller and is responsible for everyday functions and tasks of the team, such as inventory, payroll, property taxes and more. The Staff Accountant will also participate and contribute to various cross-functional teams to eliminate complexity and simplify process and procedures. Primary Responsibilities:

• Manages inventory processes, including raw material tracking, quarterly inventory grading calculation and analysis and ongoing monitoring of slow and obsolete inventory. Coordination of quarterly physical inventory across two Illinois plant locations
• Processes payroll via Dayforce system on a biweekly basis and maintain adequate schedules and information to ensure proper payments
• Liaise with Donlen vehicle leasing to manage company cars
• Participates in accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, and customer inquiries
• Manages property tax for leased machines
• Submits intercompany payables for payment via ITW netting system
• Performs month-end closing procedures, entries, and reporting
• Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Back up for accounts payable processes
• Effectively communicates and coordinates the exchange of financial information to key stakeholders
• Apply the ITW Principles (80/20, Product Line Simplification, Segmentation, In-lining, and Market Rate of Demand) to eliminate complexity and improve profitability of the company
• Assist in Internal/External Audits
• Completes other requests and analysis as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2-4 years of accounting experience including general and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding and application of accounting principles/practices
• Ability to analyze financial data
• Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
• Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office software skills
