The HR Coordinator will manage and coordinate many of the day-to-day functions for the Human Resources Department, to assure that the department runs smoothly.  

Functions will include but are not limited to:

·         Maintain and process the timekeeping and payroll system.  Accurately process Payroll on a bi-weekly basis.

·         Maintain and update confidential information related to pertinent employee records, including both hard copy and computer records (personnel, medical, and training).

·         Schedule interviews for Managers and Supervisors, as requested.  Schedule pre-employment physicals and or testing, as necessary.

·         Interview and/or perform background checks on prospective employees.

·         Coordinate new employee orientation activities and benefits enrollment procedures. 

·         Assist employees on a day-to-day basis with benefit and other questions and issues.

·         Compose and revise correspondence, reports, forms, and other information using acceptable business formats.  Proofread final copy for errors.

·         Answer routine inquires from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, benefits claims processing, and job openings.

·         Coordinate temporary help needs through approved temporary employment agencies.

·         Make necessary meeting and catering arrangements for human resources activities, including the ordering of meals or refreshments, set up and clean up. 

·         Order and maintain inventory of departmental supplies and promotional items, including departmental store items and baby banks for new births.

·         Issue employee/temp access cards and maintain computer program files for accurate employee access schedules.

·         Administer uniform, safety shoe and safety glass programs, keeping accurate records and issuing authorization forms as needed.

·         Take a lead role in planning and coordinating various employee activities.

·         Assist with development and publishing of the monthly newsletter.

·         Administer the attendance program.

·         Update bulletin boards, post and distribute memos and job postings.

·         3-5 years of previous experience in a Human Resources Department, or a combination of experience and appropriate education.  BS degree preferred.

·         Previous administrative/leadership experience, preferably in a Human Resources Department. 

·         Computer Proficiency, preferably with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (or equivalent programs), as well as HRIS Systems. 

·         Excellent grammar, writing, organizational and proofreading skills.

·         Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Ability to compose correspondence from written or verbal notes.

Ability to communicate and work effectively with personnel at all levels of the organization
