This role has responsibility for the strategy & the execution of all Procurement and supply chain related activities for Instron Dynamic Systems products. You will be responsible for a multi-disciplinary team ensuring growth and profitability goals of the business are met.
Primary responsibilities include oversight of the Supply Chain and internal Machine Shop, provide leadership and direction through focused strategic sourcing, effective supply chain practices and lean inventory management.
We are looking for a Procurement and Supply Manager. The position is responsible for:
Support the Dynamic Systems Business Unit Manager to set and review the wide performance objectives, budgets, and operating procedures to efficiently deliver the Procurement and supply chain Long-range plans and Strategy of the DS business.
Act as advisor to Business Unit Manager on Procurement and Supply chain activities timelines, internal resource and changes required, risks and feasibility of future opportunities.
Supports monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals with appropriate scheduling practices and shipment analysis.
Develop and maintain an appropriate departmental organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.
Establish departmental goals, objectives, budgets, and operating procedures.
Owns all aspects of supply chain, including contracts and all commercial terms, planning and implementation of the overall supply chain strategy for both Direct and Indirect materials/services.
Lead Strategic Sourcing for Dynamic Systems and represent the Division as part of the Test & Measurement & Electronics Sourcing Leadership Team
Leads complex and critical negotiations utilizing extensive professional knowledge within the electronics industry and experience of principles and techniques of negotiation in the purchasing cycle.
Designs and implements methods for assessing contractual performance of major suppliers, initiates supplier improvement programs, manages and negotiates variations within and outside scope of contracts, and enforces contract remedies.
Ensure supply chain strategy, practices and initiatives are aligned with the Dynamic System business strategy and support growth strategy.
Responsible for all supplier selection and qualification and should ensure that the company’s suppliers are capable of meeting exacting strategic, quality, supply continuity, technology, and commercial requirements.
Develops and integrates best practice across Instron ensuring the best use of effective supply chain tools, techniques, and processes. Must have working experience with Kanban, Vendor managed inventory, and Pull systems, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Coaches, mentors, and develops sourcing talent. Collaborates with other Instron, ITW segment and corporate leaders to enable robust career paths. Builds a diverse, high performing supply chain/ sourcing organization
Builds and leverages relationships and networks across the organization. Uses personal influence skills rather than position power to persuade others and gain support
To identify potential new sources, new products and new processes that can be used by Instron to enhance (increase the competitiveness of) the current product and/or product range.
- Should have obtained a professional qualification in Purchasing (CIPS or equivalent) and/or in Manufacturing
