ITW Medical is comprised of two strong medical product brands, Coeur and Filtertek, situated to proactively meet the needs of customers in the marketplace. The Filtertek product line is comprised of custom plastic insert molded filtration and flow control components for global OEM medical device customers. Coeur is a leading provider of disposable medical products used in diagnostic imaging and other medical procedures.


This position is expected to work on-site for 12 weeks during the Summer of 2024. This position reports to the Quality Manager and is based in Hebron, IL. 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in the design, development and testing of new and existing products and equipment. 

  • Drive improvement in customer complaint handling using the 8D process.  

  • Conduct ongoing analyses of products and processes, utilizing software to improve data collection and monitoring to enable identification of opportunities to improve quality, reduce cost and improve efficiencies. 

  • Determine the applicability of current test methods and pursue upgrading existing equipment.  

  • Participate in coordination and implementation of capital projects. 

  • Investigate customer complaints from a technical perspective.  

  • Assist in troubleshooting processes which are prone to be frequent or major production problems. 

  • Perform Statistical and Root Cause Analysis.  

  • Look for opportunities to reduce testing frequencies, repetitive testing…etc. 

  • Other tasks and duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Undergraduate/Graduate Student (3rd or 4th year or pursuing Master's)

  • Minimum 3.0 Undergraduate GPA 

  • Experience with SharePoint, Excel, Pivot Tables, and other software to facilitate data collection and analysis

  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills 

  • Self-motivated with a high attention to detail 

  • Excellent time management skills and project management abilities 

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
