ITW Medical manufactures and sells components and finished devices for use in medical Imaging, Filtration, Infusion, and Minimally Invasive applications. 

ITW Medical is comprised of three strong medical product brands - Coeur, Filtertek & Precise - situated to proactively meet the needs of customers in the marketplace.  Coeur is a leading provider of disposable medical products used in diagnostic imaging and other medical procedures.  The Filtertek product line is comprised of custom plastic insert molded filtration and flow control components for global OEM medical device customers. Precise Biomedical is a service company providing maintenance and repair of power injectors used for imaging procedures

This position is a paid internship for the summer of 2021.  It will include Product Development as well as some Project Management responsibilities.  The key objectives will be to develop systems to support the NPD process and participate in NPD initiatives, reporting to the NPD Manager. This position will be responsible for projects related to the division’s Infusion and Filtration product lines.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop a plan to research filtration media suppliers and build a database of media products that can be incorporated into the Design Guide process and other applications.  Execute the plan as developed.
• Conduct performance benchmarking testing on IV filter & CV products.  Benchmarking results to be used in identifying critical product improvement requirements and supporting technical papers (case studies and white papers) where applicable.
• Support the conversion of electronic drawing and product design files into SolidWorks format.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to formalize the divisional Tolerancing Guide.

• 3rd or 4th year Student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field with a strong, demonstrable interest in business
• Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning

• Time management and project management abilities
