This position is within ITW’s Specialty division. ITW Medical manufactures and sells components and finished devices for use in the medical imaging, filtration, infusion, and minimally invasive applications.  ITW Medical is comprised of three strong medical product brands – Coeur, Filtertek & Precise – situated to proactively meet the needs of customers in the marketplace.  This position will be a resource for the Filtertek side of the division.  The Filtertek product line is comprised of custom plastic insert molded filtration and flow control components for global OEM medical device customers.  Our expertise in screen processing and screen over molding technology make ITW Medical a primary choice in the market. 

The Materials Manager provides leadership that optimizes division supply chain design, execution, and performance by implementing the ITW Business Model and 80/20 Front to Back Processes.  The position spans across all movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods from point-of-origin to point-of-consumption.  It develops and deploys common strategies, processes and tools that deliver strategic objectives including best in class customer service, reduced complexity, and improved manufacturing and working capital efficiencies. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Management

Accountable for SLOB improvement – Manages inventory to avoid SLOB

Develop MRD target - Owns implementation and maintenance of the plant “MRD” program

Improve and stabilize PPV impact.  - Directs the Plant’s purchasing function and supply base through supplier evaluation and develops purchasing techniques to ensure price, delivery, and service.

Actively adjust and implement changes necessary to drive best-in-industry performance to produce optimum operational results and P&L improvement.

Engages in material planning by analyzing market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.

Develops and provides the plans for managing inventory levels and inventory reduction.

Customer Communication/Management

Provide answers and respond to customer queries via phone, fax and email, courteously and consistently using established guidelines.

Learn and apply product knowledge to effectively and correctly answer customer queries. Keep up with developments and enhancements of products.

Work with team to identify and implement improvements to support high customer satisfaction ratings

Partner with Sales, Operations, & Finance to identify and meet assigned customer account needs.

Be proactive in bringing forth problems. Recommend potential improvements / resolutions for department and/or customer issues.

ITW 80/20 Continuous Improvement

Lead divisional Sourcing/Procurement and Customer Satisfaction improvement projects that reduce complexity, reduce non-value-added activities, reduce costs, and deliver differentiated best in class customer service and improved manufacturing and working capital efficiencies

Utilizing toolbox, develop plan to reduce steps required to order raw material from customer demand.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering/technical, or business or equivalent experience

7+ years progressive experience in supply chain and/or operations experience in manufacturing

Experience with Production Planning/Scheduling and Warehouse/Transportation

Proven self-directed leadership with Continuous Improvement systems including the ability to improve processes and utilize structured problem-solving methods to deliver breakthrough business results

Strong analytical skills and collaborative team leadership competencies

Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems and analytics within Microsoft Excel

Preferred

Future career potential for higher levels of leadership in Operations and/or Supply Chain management

Experiences working with sophisticated business systems and processes including ITW 80/20

Personal attributes including strong leadership presence, high-energy, detail oriented, analytics

Plastics extrusion high-volume continuous manufacturing factory experience
