ITW Medical is comprised of three strong medical product brands - Coeur, Filtertek & Precise - situated to proactively meet the needs of customers in the marketplace.  Coeur is a leading provider of disposable medical products used in diagnostic imaging and other medical procedures.  The Filtertek product line is comprised of custom plastic insert molded filtration and flow control components for global OEM medical device customers. Precise Biomedical is a service company providing maintenance and repair of power injectors used for imaging procedures.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all technical aspects of the injection molding operation, maximizing good component production by focusing on uptime and minimizing scrap. (Examples: monitoring molding processes; minimize intermittent equipment issues by taking action on root causes; communicate all tooling related issues, etc.)
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of the assembly automation, maximizing the production of good finished products by focusing on uptime and minimizing scrap. (Examples: clearing jams; maintaining calibrations; replacing worn parts/electrical switches, etc.)
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all equipment required for the processes related to automation and molding
  • Setup and operate molding machines, automation and support equipment
  • Work closely with setup technicians and operators to ensure proper operation of equipment
  • Responsible for assigned preventive maintenance tasks
  • Maintenance of building and grounds as directed
  • Determine the root cause of known technical issues and implement corrective actions
  • Manage spare parts inventory.
  • Document work performed in the appropriate format according to the quality system
  • Improve efficiency while ensuring quality standards, individually as and part of a team
  • Assist Quality with finding and implementing corrective actions from customer rejections
  • Communicate with other shifts, operators, and technicians to give and receive updates on equipment status
  • Ability to accommodate occasional flexible schedule when required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with plastic injection molding
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and electric systems
  • Familiarity with automated assembly and sonic welding preferred
  • Experience with tool and die (maintenance and repair) beneficial
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Willingness/ability to attend formal training courses to learn PLC troubleshooting if needed
  • Must possess good communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to safely operate required equipment for performing job functions
