The Product Manager is a key position within the Alpine Equipment Business Unit that supports our new product development driven profitable growth strategy. This position will drive product development activities and decisions to deliver differentiated new products to our customers. The Product Manager leverages a first-hand understanding of market & technology insights, customer needs & the related value propositions, expertise in the relevant product line, and leadership instincts to achieve top-line growth as well as bottom line operating income.

  • Lead market insights and discovery phase: Identifying customer needs and pain points, understanding/assessing competitors’ solutions, quantifying the customer value proposition, and maintaining a consistent and robust flow of innovation projects into the NPD pipeline.
  • Understand market trends and innovation to support thinking around the pipeline (risk/impacts).
  • Develop, plan, and execute a go-to-market strategy plan with sales and marketing teams.
  • Building business cases that develop project objectives, understand the addressable market, financial and risk profile.
  • Work alongside a high-performance product development team through all Customer Back Innovation phases to ensure new products have strong competitive differentiation, while also meeting time to market expectations.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Sales team to transfer knowledge of the customer needs and ensure the technical solution designed solves for customer and business needs.
  • Validating concept against value proposition, and commercial attractiveness with customers.
  • Leverage ITW Toolbox skills – 80/20, USa and PLS – in all aspects of product management and decision making
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of industry experience
  • 3+ years Product Management/Marketing experience
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-level projects with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and sales teams
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, and solid decision-making abilities
  • Proven ability to analyze current business issues, end-user needs
  • Well organized, aggressive self-starter with the willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to establish plans based independently from external and internal inputs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting and facilitating before groups
  • Expected travel up to 30%
