The Electrical-Electronics Strategic Sourcing Manager provides key leadership to ITW segments/divisions sourcing activities globally including but not limited to Cost Management, Supplier Base Rationalization, Contract Negotiation and Risk Mitigation. This role will create and deliver sourcing strategies.

In this role, the top prioritized commodities (categories) are PCBA’s, Electronic Components, Cables, Wire Harnesses, Electrical Components/Assemblies, and Electromechanical Components/Assemblies.

In light of ITW future business growth opportunities, such as the NPD project working with Semiconductor manufacturer(s) for ITW Electric Vehicle applications, this role will also have direct engagement.

Key Deliverables

Create Data-Driven Strategies to:

  • Review and evaluate spend data together with Segment/ Division Sourcing teams through both internal tools and external resources.
  • Capture commodity market data and create comprehensive supply chain market intelligence reports.
  • Release AVL across multiple Segments/Divisions. Utilize diverse suppliers where possible.
  • Work with ITW Segments/ Divisions to obtain and validate commodity sourcing requirements to develop annual and long-term category strategies.

Support Management of “80” Supplier Base:

  • Review & manage existing supplier performance together with Segment/Division sourcing leads. Leverage and introduce good performing supplier(s) capacity & capacity across multiple Segments/Divisions. Improve or exit poor performing suppliers.
  • Develop new supplier(s) to match up with business needs to close the gap among existing suppliers.
  • Manage or support the negotiation with suppliers including but limit to contract, cost, inventory, resource, and service etc.
  • Manage or support regular communication such as routine business calls/meetings, risk mitigation, QBR, NPD etc. Cultivate supplier relationships up to the executive level(s) of the supplier(s).

Drive Cost Savings and Operating Income Improvement

  • Manage category cost strategies and develop/maintain the tools for cost structure/ database management.
  • From enterprise level, leverage ITW’s supplier relationships and spend to drive results.
  • Propose the annual budget of cost saving/reduction working together with Segments/Divisions.

Drive Innovation and Growth:

  • Engage with engineering/ innovation teams to support ITW’s organic growth goals.
  • Learn and share the trends in industries related to ITW’s applications.
  • Ensure ITW gets Intellectual Property rights for development work; work to protect ITW’s IP.
  • Integrate supplier feedback and technical capabilities with business unit leadership to deliver existing product enhancements, expedited roll out of future products, and contain market inflation.

Risk Management

  • Track and address various risks of the assigned commodities including shortages, inflation, lifecycle, lead time changes, sole/single source, tariff mitigation, Force Majeures, and other events to ensure supply continuity.
  • Identify and mitigate the risks at suppliers to avoid/reduce the negative impacts to ITW business.
  • Communicate proactively with business leadership when market trends and/or risks are identified and propose action plans to mitigate those risks, such as VMI/ safety stock program.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Electronic -Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain/Business Management-based discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in strategic sourcing or category management in Electronic-Electrical commodity/supply chain
  • Strong knowledge of global electronics-electrical supply chain, category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier management, such as key players, cost drivers and manufacturing processes
  • Strong knowledge of should-cost modeling linked with electronic-electrical manufacturing including PCBA, cable/wire harness assembly, panel/box build and full system integration assembly
  • Proven performance in identifying and delivering annual cost reductions linked to category strategy
  • Working experience in EMS, Electronic-Electrical and/or semiconductor Manufacturing/Distribution is desired
  • Experience of working in large enterprise with global footprints, and international experience/deep knowledge of markets by regions are desired
  • Knowledge and experience of project management to support NPI/NPD/VAVE
  • Strong negotiation skills to negotiate contract/ pricing/ lead time etc.
  • Strong communication, persuasion, presentation, and interpersonal skills at all levels of the business; ability to build and sustain trusting relationships internally and externally
  • Exceptional analytical (e.g. financial data analysis and budget planning) skill
  • Willing and able to travel internationally and domestically up to 30% of the working time
