POSITON SUMMARY:

The Material Handler will be primarily responsible for the injection molding area, this includes owning 5S of the area and ensuring products are stored and transported to the point of use in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. The Material Handler is a Mold Technician in Training and will complete all requirements according to the Motion Mold Technician Program. Material Handler is a development role and will be trained in various facets of Operations. Material Handler must execute to all standards of our Quality Program, safety guidelines, and assist in other areas of business such as operator relief, troubleshooting, minor repairs, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Blend material / color changes in a timely and accurate manner including leaving the workstation clean and organized.
  • Maintain a proper flow of material to area of responsibility so that operation does not cease for lack of supplies.
  • Ensure product is stored and utilized in FIFO manner.
  • Perform problem-solving techniques in evaluating material conveying, drying and grinding including required PM’s of grinders, conveyance equipment and dryers.
  • Move material via forklift, wrap and label finished product.
  • Document lot control where required and maintain all required documentation for material handling, drying, PM
  • Removes any old labels from gaylords, boxes and totes.
  • Maintain proper rotation of raw material/components.
  • Assist in relieving machine operators from presses, when needed.
  • Train as a Mold Technician and complete responsibilities to align with Motion Mold Technician Training program, to achieve certification as a Mold Technician.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Demonstrated Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Legible penmanship, including excellent communications skills both verbal and written, along with good organizational skills required.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of a machine operator and plastic injection molding.
  • Must have computer knowledge – specifically Microsoft Office software.
  • Must have good attendance for consideration, proven track record of satisfactory performance.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivated to move through duties thoroughly, precisely, and in a timely fashion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Individual must have ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent, hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch, and similar activities.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime to meet customer needs and production schedules.
  • Ability to work available shift upon completion of Mold Technician Program.
  • Employee must able to frequently lift and or move up to 65 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time.
