Job Summary: Prepares records of receipt of incoming material and equipment and posts to open orders of suppliers. Responsible for accuracy of shipping documents and verifying receiving receipts with open orders. Maintain inventory levels, stock locations
 

Tasks, Duties, Responsibilities

·         Confirm Order contents as stated on shipping documents.

·         Communicate order information to planners as required

·         Work with drivers and vendors for deliveries

·         Receive incoming shipments of merchandise or other materials

·         Verify and inspect material unloaded from trucks

·         Stage and load/unload inbound or outbound shipments.

·         Verify correctness of shipments (Inbound/Outbound) against Bills of Lading, Sales              Orders, invoices and packing lists.

·         Report damaged goods, shortages, missing/erroneous paperwork.

·         Route goods to the proper departments.

·         Stock raw materials in new or existing locations

·         Operate forklift and steel room hoists

·         Meet quality and productions standards as required

·         Safely use various tools and equipment to open or secure products.

·         Complete all paperwork and computer entry as required

·         Meet objectives outlined in the Safety Policy

·         Keep area clean and work in a safe manner

·         Accept responsibility for personal safety and show respect for the safety of others.


 

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Qualifications

Knowledge: Basic computer knowledge (including bar code readers).  1+ years of related experience preferred.

Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow directions, quality orientated, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to operate hand tools, strong interpersonal skills, basic reading and writing skills, good time management skills, ability to operate and maintain light machinery, hoists and lifting devices.

Abilities: Understanding computer assignments and paper work procedures.  Ability to accept and follow instructions for work priorities and work methods. Strong work ethic and self-motivation with minimal supervision. Ability to show flexibility with various work assignments.  Must be able to work in a team environment as a positive contributor. 

Education: High school graduate or equivalent (or working towards equivalent).

Specialized Training

Avery Weigh-Tronix will provide specific training for the following specialized processes.  These are to be recorded on the employee’s training record:
 

·         Hoist & Forklift Training

·         Hazardous Waste Handling Training
