Objective of role:

The HR Generalist will provide day-to-day professional HR support across the site.  This role will manage all phases of the employee life cycle such as recruitment, hiring, compensation administration, employee relations and employee data maintenance and reporting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Lead all non-exempt recruitment, to source, evaluate, select and onboard   new talent
  •  Post all open positions on Smart Recruiters  
  •  Partner with managers to effectively manage the talent acquisition process,   including  sourcing and evaluating new staffing vendors, interviewing, and   maintaining applicant tracking & record keeping
  •  Assist with the identification and development of training to support   development efforts
  •  Support managers and employees with payroll related questions and act as   the payroll liaison for the site
  •  Be the Leave of Absence process owner for the site, including running a   highly effective return-to-work process
  •  Work with Snr HR Generalist to manage and resolve complex employee   relations issues
  •  Organise and conduct new employee orientation, to create a positive first   employee   experience
  •  Manage the pre-employment screening process and person health   assessments
  •  Manage the open enrolment for medical benefits
  •  Schedule and manage volunteer programmes, such as the United Way   Campaign, Red Cross, Meals on Wheels
  •  Maintain knowledge of legal requirements, employment laws, and   government reporting regulations affecting the workplace, reducing legal   risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  •  Work closely with management and employees to improve working   relationships, build   morale, and increase productivity and retention.  
  •  Schedule Pure Safety training for employees
  •  Assist with HR Admin requirements
  •  Other duties as determined by the Snr HR Generalist

Skills & Abilities:     

Proven HR generalist experien

Strong written/verbal communication skills,

Good listening skills

Ability to communicate updates with colleagues, keeping team members informed, and respond clearly to inquires in a timely manner

Capable of working independently, with limited supervision managing multiple tasks

Effectively manage time and able to prioritise own work

Adapt easily to change, perform calmly under pressure, and work effectively in ambiguous environments

Establish and maintain effective working relationships and credibility with individuals at all levels of the organisation

Strong organisational and change management skills

 Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation

 Proactive team player, with strong problem-solving skills

 Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy

 Ability to work under pressure and at pace

 Education level:        Ideally has HR qualification

 AND/OR

 Experience:                Five plus years or working in a HR role
