Summary:
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Duties:
- Installs up to 480 voltage power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed production machines and equipment
- Connects power supply wiring to machines, equipment, and building and grounds
- Connects cables and wiring between machines and equipment
- Diagnoses malfunctioning Items such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, and replaces damaged component
- Tests and repairs malfunctioning production equipment/machinery and notifies appropriate personnel
- Uses welding skills/equipment (TIG, Stick, Torch) to fabricate and repair chutes, conveyors, hoppers, etc.
- Reads and interprets hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical blueprints
- Replaces faulty electrical components such as relays, switches and motors, and positions sensing devices
- Troubleshoots and repairs faulty electronic and electromechanical components, such as printed circuit boards (solder component level wiring and/or component)
- Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical components in building
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and equipment
- Maintains current knowledge and actively addresses safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations
- Other duties may include: janitorial, plumbing, pipefitting, painting, security, carpentry
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma & electrician certification, or Associate’s degree from a Technical College required
- Ability to read and understand electrical blueprints
- Apprenticeship or Journeyman experience preferred
- Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
- Forklift Truck Experience preferred
- 3-5+ years maintenance and electrical experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to complete routine production and quality reports.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Understanding and compliance with OSHA safety rules and regulations including lock out, tag out procedures and PPE use
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
