Primary Objective: 

Support the manufacturing of products by utilizing manufacturing equipment, in-process instrumentation and production documentation in accordance with current production methods, company policy and safety regulations.

 

Major Areas of Accountability: 

Conducts rapid, objective assessment and correction of manufacturing stoppages as needed.  Provide first line support to drive resolution of production issues through close collaboration with other functional groups (Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, Procurement, etc).

Recommends production methods to the Manufacturing Engineers to achieve area production goals.

  • Monitors performance metrics and recommends continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure local inventories, supplies and materials are available and up to date.

Maintains processes and procedures, and associated documentation, ensuring efficient operation and quality in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and corporate policies.

  • Review the Nonconformance data (Quality Notifications, Corrective Actions, material issues, etc.) in assigned area(s) to drive upstream improvements to eliminate cost of poor quality.

Provides training to new production personnel as needed.   Contribute to the development of work instructions.

Assist in the installation and validation of new production equipment.  Schedules routine maintenance. Keeps maintenance records and calibrations of existing equipment up to date.

Seeks correct information so that correct processes are carried-out and materials consumed match Drawings/Work Inst./BOM. Reports production impact via QN process.

  • Works cross-functionally to document Drawing/BOM errors and submits ECN request. 
  • Implements temporary solutions while Drawing/BOM is getting changed
  • Assist in developing new process documentation.
  • Technical contributor during new product concept and build support on prototype builds.

Facility or local production area representative in charge while area leadership is not present.  May oversee multiple areas or provide shift coverage.

Added production capacity.

  • Temporarily fills-in to cover capacity voids and provides long-term added capacity to maintain production output.
  • Skill/knowledge flexibility to support multiple work cells or act as temporary lead.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: 

  • Two year certification from college or trade school or military training in an applicable discipline (mechanics, hydraulics, electronics) OR Four years applicable experience in an applicable environment.
  • 5 years mechanical assembly experience applicable to MTS products.
  • Must thoroughly understand and apply hydro-mechanical technologies: Hydraulic schematics, hydraulic flow characteristics, tube & hose sizing, proper sealing characteristics, basic structural integrity, quality and safety in designs.

  • Working knowledge of subassembly level, including final level assemblies.

  • Must have the ability to work multiple assignments and balance multiple priorities.  Prior experience leading small teams successfully and coordinate multiple tasks is essential.

  • Able to effectively use computer resources to gather information, complete reporting, and utilize software applications and programs to perform daily duties.
