This position will be responsible for providing direct supervision of logistics employees in the following areas: daily work assignments, employee training, employee time management, employee correction and reviews. The position will ensure production quality and quantity requirements are met while maintaining safety, and proper communication to internal and external business partners.

Will also supervise staff directing material movement of all inbound and outbound, domestic and international MTS shipments. This position will allow for the efficient flow of products to and from their destinations. The role works with the Global Logistics Manager and MTS Compliance Department to assure all material and equipment orders shipped meet US and foreign subsidiary Import and Export compliance requirements.

Requires:  US Citizenship in accordance with ITAR/CUI requirements  

  • Delegate work to shipping department staff. This includes supporting the team with problem solving for day-to-day activities.
  • Supervise staff completing daily shipment of materials to support Production activities, New Equipment Sales, After Market Sales, Field Service and MTS affiliates. Schedule delivery and distribution of products to achieve objectives and meet customer requirements.
  • Facilitate International/Domestic transportation services - import & export trucking, air & ocean.
  • Diligently support staff monitor and trouble-shoot order fulfillment from the point of entry through to the customer receiving the product, answering customer inquiries throughout the process, and resolving any logistics issues.
  • Works with Global Logistics Manager and MTS Compliance to maintain required trade documents and shipment records.
  • File claims for damaged and missing shipments, investigate root causes and report to Global Logistics Manager
  • Supports audit of logistics and customs invoices for accuracy (subject matter expert)
  • Aid Global Logistics Manager in the negotiation of Carrier and 3PL Contracts.
  • Collects logistics data for reporting and performance measurements then provides to Global Logistics Manager
  • Subject matter expert on the creation of shipping documents, such as customs forms, and certifications for export shipments
  • Supports US import shipments and entry processing
  • Helps arrange and monitor international shipments of tools, returned goods, and calibrated materials  (includes foreign to foreign)
  • Vets rate quotes for standard, rush, and special deliveries.
  • Maintains carriers, freight forwarder, customs broker, and supplier relationships.
  • Audit freight bills for accurate freight payments by assigning correct coding.
  • Works with project teams to assure revenue and INCODATES are met and input into SAP.
  • Effectively collaborate internal/ external customers to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to proactively aid staff in identification of potential shipping issues and seek resolution.
  • Ability to meet high demand while maintaining a level head in a fast-paced work environment, multitask & perform under deadlines w/o compromised quality.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with our customers, our sales staff, and the greater overseas team.
  • Other accountabilities/duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:

  • Four year degree and Five years relevant Logistics and Compliance experience or equivalent
  • Three years of staff supervision small team
