Regional Controller - North America

ITW Appliance Components serves all the major Appliance OEM in the US, Europe, Asia, and Mexico and their tier suppliers.  This global division manufactures mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical components and assemblies with a variety of manufacturing processes.  We have locations in the US, China, Mexico, the UK, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Italy.  ITW Industrial Components is a separate Business Unit within the ITW Appliance Division focused on industrial customers and applications.

Reporting to the Division Controller, the Regional Controller - North America serves as a key business partner to enable above average market growth and operational efficiency.  In addition, this leadership role is responsible for managing the U.S. accounting and finance organization.  Functions include the reporting process (which includes reporting to both the parent company and internal management). 

Responsibilities and Authority:

Planning, reporting and analysis:

  •  Lead all major financial decisions of the North America business.
  • Responsible for Financial reporting of North America business
  • Understand and adhere to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and GAAP requirements.
  • Knowledge of Consolidated Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Statements, Sales and Use Taxation and internal controls.
  • Proactive internal reporting – Identify potential issues/opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • Financial analysis of actual results to highlight variances to key strategic plans/forecasts.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of a small team of staff that comprise the accounting function where activities include accounts payable, revenue and asset accounting, cost analysis and financial reporting.
  • Support Strategic Planning to ensure capital projects meet the company’s strategic plan; act as key resource in maintaining project timelines and project dependencies.
  • Monthly management information reporting including presentation of results to internal management.
  • Forecasting and Planning (Annual and Long-Range Plans)
  • Support Strategic Planning to ensure capital projects meet the company’s strategic plan; act as key resource in maintaining project timelines and project dependencies.
  • Establish production and costs statistics, inventory value; identify, analyze and recommend process and procedure improvements and opportunities for supported divisions and Finance/Accounting.
  • Control procedures – compliance with all ITW Policies and Procedures (Including internal and external audits) 
  • Mange and develop a team of operational improvements and process simplification within the organization to drive growth, enhance efficiency, and eliminate complexity.
  • Ensure the organization operates within all Corporate financial and compliance guidelines.
  • Additional ad-hoc duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required with a minimum 7 years of progressive experience in a financial reporting.
  • Experience in reviewing and supervising accounting areas such as accounts payable, inventory, invoicing/accounts receivable and payroll.
  • Strong strategic leadership skills with a proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner.
  • Proven ability to perform budgeting and forecasting, as well as drive simplification and continuous improvement within the business.
  • Experience developing and managing direct reports within the finance function.
  • Ability to build constructive and effective relationships across the organization.
  • Proficiency in accounting software in addition to expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or another analysis software highly preferred.
  • Effective presentation/communication skills.  Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Requires minimal (4 times/yr.) domestic travel.
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
