The Senior Product Manager UK & Nordics is key in driving the Spit product range forward and responsible for delivering growth. You will need to assist and lead the business unit in developing product strategies for the existing range of products as well as researching adjacent product opportunities. This involves building relationships with new and existing material manufacturers, suppliers, tradesmen on site, contractors and distribution channel, throughout the UK and the Nordics region. You will also be actively participating in industry associations and use insights from these relationships to benefit the business.


You will be creating and implementing business plans for products, market extensions or new services. Defining opportunities to research as well as reporting on these opportunities, following in-depth analysis from desk, on-site and end user research. To devise and be responsible for the delivery of the Strategic Product Plan in coordination with the Product Manager and the wider Business Unit.


Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will work closely with the Commercial team and have line management responsibility for a Product Manager and Customer back/market insights exec. You will work closely with the Global Tool Unit to deliver the growth actions for the complete product range set out in the Marketing plan. 


  • Portfolio design and management.
  • Leading, managing and developing a team to support marketing and commercial strategies.
  • To understand, develop and communicate our system value propositions, to both internal and external stakeholders. To ensure that our commercial teams and our distribution partners have the best possible understanding of the opportunity presented by the product.
  • Translates market intelligence and end user insights into business cases for adjacent or new opportunities within the Concrete segment (Drywall & Electrical Trades).
  • Identify emerging markets or business opportunities around product/service offerings
  • Outside-in mindset with the ability to translate end market needs and trends into long-term profitable, strategic growth plans. Sets direction for R&D efforts aligned to market analysis
  • Leads project management of new product development from concept to commercialization, in coordination with other functional areas.
  • Launch of new products internally and externally. Working closely with wider Marketing Communications team to create successful product launches across the region
  • Support the marketing team with developing case studies from users, channel as well as material manufacturers to drive content for digital and traditional media.
  • Managing research, by using Site trials and customer back insights from end users. To gauge qualitative feedback on tool and or service projects, to proactively drive growth for the product range. With a real focus on the “Jobs to Be Done”.
  • Develop Spit product range by building strong relationships with the wider ITW product teams by using outside in data and customer insights


Experience and skills:

  • Degree level education with proven relevant commercial and or marketing work experience
  • Technically minded with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong communication (including report writing) and presentation skills
  • Passion for product and construction industry will be an advantage
  • Ability to influence others
  • Line management experience preferred
  • Good communicator at all levels internally and externally
  • Culturally aware with some international experience preferred
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally
