ITW Deltar Fasteners is a large division within the Automotive Segment and serves all the major OEMs and their tier suppliers with plastic fasteners. Locations include:  Frankfort, IL; Chippewa Falls, WI and our Commercial Sales and Engineering in Troy, MI.

The Process Development Manager – Deltar Fasteners will report to the Technical Engineering Manager – Deltar Fasteners and will be responsible to manage the Sample Department activity and provide technical support to the Manufacturing departments ensuring optimum cycle efficiency, processes, and maximum tool performance with the highest quality. May include the supervision of the day-to-day activities of personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult and work closely with Tooling, Quality, Engineering and Business Units to review new projects and automation possibilities, tool design, process issues and product requirements.

  • Participate in design review of new part opportunities

  • Reviews alternative materials, design changes, and new processes or procedures in conjunction with the Business Units, Engineering, Tooling and Supplier Business Unit to ensure customer satisfaction of new product samples.

  • Work with outside vendors (material and machinery) to ensure personnel receives the training and product support needed to successfully complete assignments.

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of personnel.

  • Develop and conduct training for Mold technicians.

  • Monitor and assist manufacturing to achieve world-class OEE targets

  • Other Tasks and duties as assigned

  • Personal drive with the ability to work under little to no supervision
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Thorough understanding of the injection molding process
  • Team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization
  • BS or BA degree (prefer technical field of study)
  • 2 years production supervision experience
  • 5 + years’ experience with production in a manufacturing environment (plastic injection molding/assembly, automotive knowledge)
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (e.g. MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English); good visual skills and reasoning ability
