Opto Diode Corporation based in Camarillo, California, has a long history of delivering industry-leading sensors, photodiodes, detectors, and LEDs. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and augment the current ISO9001:2015 system and work on their own or with consultants to prepare the company for formal registration. This includes managing the internal and supplier audit teams.
  • Manage the entire QMS program of the company (Non-conforming reports, Corrective Actions, and Engineering change orders) and suggest improvements.
  • Manage the disposition of NCMRs through the MRB approvals.
  • Manage the supplier rating program and submit yearly reports to all critical suppliers.  This includes following up on SCARs as necessary.
  • Represent the company during customer visits and/or audits. 
  • Review and negotiate new and existing quality standards and inspections during design reviews and/or customer specification approvals.
  • Be a hands-on problem solver for internal, supplier, and customer issues.  This includes an analysis of defects.
  • The ability to provide reliability analysis in terms of MTBF or MTTF is a plus.
  • Manage the QA Department and employees.
  • Operate as a program manager for Hi-Rel jobs, including parts that are of a space flight quality level.
  • Able to perform full failure analysis reports as required for internal and external issues.  This includes reports in 8D format.
  • Responsible for performing internal defect analysis and reducing scrap costs.
  • Responsible for performing RMA analysis, and suggesting improvements to prevent reoccurrence and reduce costs of RMAs.
  • Ensure safety programs and initiatives meet EMEA safety compliance regulations & ITW standards.
  • Utilize 80/20 in managing all aspects of the role.
  • Lead regional Continual Improvement activities that influence safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, and cost-saving initiatives through analysis, employee involvement, and ITW toolbox principles.
  • Proactively provide oversight, and leadership and when appropriate direct the resolution of operational and facility issues through local teams to ensure minimal cost and prevent operational delays.
  • Ensure product Quality is maintained through robust training and testing programs.
  • Use effective change management skills to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate change.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and influence associates for positive and proactive attitudes, personal accountability, engagement, and superior manufacturing quality.
  • Support, evaluate, and provide feedback on team member performance to goals regularly.
  • Identify, manage, and develop talent to maximize individual and team effectiveness. 
  • Provides training to new and existing staff and supports them in their career goals.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Business Unit Manager

Qualifications:

 

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the electronics industry and 5 years of overall quality experience.  Experience working in the technical aspects of QA or Reliability as a QE, Reliability Engineer or QA Analyst is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is desired although not required if the candidate has a large amount of experience working in the more technical aspects of Quality Assurance.
  • Being a team player and flexible in approaches to meeting ISO9001:2015 requirements is of high importance.
  • Knowledge of the current MIL standards for different processes (i.e. Wire Bonding, Die Attach, etc.) and testing is required.
  • Excellent communication, written/verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to lead people and get results through others.
  • Customer-centric, always bringing forth the Customer’s perspective.
  • Ability to shift priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to partner with leadership and influence strategic initiatives.

Pay Range: 90,000 to 120,000 per year

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and rarely lift up to fifty (25) pounds.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear (safety shoes and glasses)
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
  • While performing the job functions of this position, the employee will have exposure to an environment near powered motor vehicles, power tools, and automated assembly fixtures.
